Pistol Heroes, 2013 is a limited edition Lambda print by artist Salla Tykka produced as part of the BALTIC Editions series.
The image was taken in 1999 at Tykkä’s family house, a time when she was interested in the memories of dreams she had in her youth. Tykkä said, “In those dreams I wanted to be one of the pistol heroes of the western films I was seeing on TV. As there weren't any female characters in those films I could relate to, I had to invent my own dream world where the female pistol hero would be true.”
